Half-Day - Breakfast with the Seals

4 hr
110 Canadian dollars
Kennebecasis River

Description

The Breakfast with the Seals Adventure will begin with a short paddle across the river to have coffee and watch the sunrise on the rocks of Kennebacasis Island. From there we will enjoy a leisurely paddle upriver to Sea Dog Cove to have breakfast in our kayaks while watching the seals that call the cove their home. On this adventure we will discuss this beautiful cove, the challenges wildlife faces in this their habitat, and how we can enjoy, preserve, and protect their home. It is an initiative to bring awareness to the cove, without disruption, in the hopes of educating about safe distance observation, and the importance of our mandate to ENJOY. PRESERVE. PROTECT. "How can we enjoy nature and at the same time preserve the spaces we enjoy and protect them from harm and disruption?!" *Sunrise too early? Pick your time, and breakfast can become brunch or lunch! *Tiered pricing available for 3+ people. Includes: • Equipment Rentals and all related gear • 2 Guides • Food and Drink (ISA Signature Breakfast, coffee/hot chocolate) • 4 hours of Activity

In Step Adventures acknowledges that we carry out our work, play and creation stewardship on the traditional unceded territory of the Wolastoqiyik, Mi’kmaq and Peskotomuhkati peoples. This territory was covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship” and signed by these first nations in 1726. The Treaties recognized Mi’kmaq and Wolastoqiyik title and established the rules for what was to be an ongoing relationship between nations.

Therefore, we pay respect to the elders, past and present, and descendants of this land, honouring their knowledge and endeavouring to learn from their wisdom regarding its ongoing stewardship and protection for future generations.
